Students

In each of the 5 current years, there are about 120-140 students per batch. Since DIMC is technically an "international" campus by name, it does not mean that local Pakistanis do not attend it. In fact, about half of the students per batch are local Pakistanis (whether they are from Karachi or other cities) and these students are paying the private fees or self-finance. As the local Dow is based on merit only, DIMC allows more students into medical school but asks for a much higher tuition. More Doctors!

In my opinion is it good that the campus is not only international or only local because this helps everyone learn to interact with different people. In the end, internationals will be helping patients who come to the hospital and they will be local Pakistanis, so it is good to learn the culture and language/dialect as well. And as for locals, internationals bring a culture of their own that they can all share and learn from. There usually isn't a separation of 'foreign' or 'locals', it depends on the students social interactions. MOST students ARE generally friendly at DIMC no matter where they are from and what batch they are in.

I am back!! (click on me)

After almost a 3-4 year gap, I decided to bring this blog back. I am now a 5th year student at DIMC, and really want to revamp this blog and help as many students as possible since my time remaining here at Dow is probably shorter than yours (IA).  I have learned so much, and super excited to share with you all!! Welcome. Back.

Welcome to DIMC!

Interested in applying to DIMC and want some more information? This is the right place for you. I started this blog to help others with the admissions process and give a more personal view of DIMC that is not available anywhere else. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me and I guarantee to reply faster than DOW's admissions office ;) Email: dimcblogger@gmail.com I am a current DIMC student and have gone through the long admission process and my goal is to help newcomers and parents with tips that will hopefully make their lives easier because who wants unnecessary stress! Also you can click on the "My Experience" tab to see my posts that I update regularly as I progress through Med School.
